The village of Villelongue d'Aude is situated in a delightful part of South West France surrounded by vineyards and rolling, forested hills.  The house is located in the heart of this lovely village, full of history and charm, just 10 minutes from the lively market town of Limoux and 35 minutes from Carcassonne, medieval city and heritage site with an international airport.

The village has a Mairie, Post Office and Primary School.  The bar in the square below the church opens two nights a week and a grocers shop is due to open early in the new year.

There are several village clubs organising events, both cultural and sporting.

Toulouse is just a 1h 30 drive away or is accessible by train from Limoux.  As a major city it has all the amenities and culture you could wish for as well as being of great historical and architectural interest.

There are delightful walks from the village and in the surrounding area.  There are numerous mountain bike trails and the road cycling is quiet, interesting and challenging.  The village is vibrant with village fetes, concerts and cultural events organised by the various committees.  The summer village market 'les Tréteaux', held on three occasions in the summer is very popular.  A small bar opens two evenings a week in the village square below the church.

Within easy reach are the mountains of the Pyrenees, with walking, climbing and skiing.  The resorts of Ax les Thermes, Mont d'Olmes and les Angles are all nearby.  Ax les Thermes is 1h30 drive.

There are Cathar Castles and lakes  nearby and the Mediterranean is 1h 30 drive.
